The origin of his name came from the fact that we found him with nasty-looking rubber bullet-looking holes in the huge wound on both sides of his hind legs. However, when we brought him to the vet, it was discovered that those holes were actually from his teeth!
Bullet suffers from a lot of stress which causes him to harm himself as an outlet for it. This self-harming behaviour could be due to anxiety, stress, fear or a mixture of many things but we do not know for sure. Despite this, however, Bullet is very gentle and friendly to people! He enjoys being around people but not so much with other dogs as his growling and self-harm behaviour stresses out the other dogs too. He does sometimes start fights with the other dogs as a result of the stress and often gets easily jealous if the attention is not on him which could lead to him growling and biting himself. Bullet is wary of strangers and it takes a bit of time for him to get used to new people.
We put him on the sponsorship list due to his self-harm problem. It will be quite difficult for him to travel by plane as he bites himself under a lot of stress. Although he is good with people, Bullet needs a lot of supervision and training. Any adoption should stay within the country for his safety.
